COOK – Full-time

Primary Function:  Responsible for preparing and serving food, production sheets and keeping a clean kitchen

Primary Duties

1. Develop and coordinate menus
2. Coordinate food preparation and service 
3. Complete required production sheets and order forms. Complete and submit all USDA, School and other agency required reports
4. Monitor food consumption and adjust food orders and menus as needed
5. Conduct regular inspections of kitchens and food preparation areas and procedures. Ensure Compliance with safety rules and regulations. Document inspections and report to supervisor.
6. Assist with preparation and monitoring of budgets and planning for the Food Service program
7. Monitor food and beverage items for quality and freshness
8. Set-up the food carts
9. Stock, arrange, and prepare food and beverages
10. Set-up, serve, and clean-up for all meals
11. Maintain clean, sanitary, and orderly kitchen and cafeteria areas
12. Attend meetings as required
13. Follow all duties of a mandated reporter
14. Perform other related duties, as assigned

Required Qualifications

1.    HSD/GED required.
   2.    Minimum 3-year food service experience
2. Serv Save Certified or willing and able to obtain within three months of hire.
3. Knowledge of health department regulations on food preparation and meal serving
4.    Ability to lift 30 pounds regularly
5. Good communication and writing skills
   7.    Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
   8. Able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends depending on needs of the program.
6. Transportation, valid Wisconsin driver’s license, state minimum auto insurance, and must meet La Casa de Esperanza’s driving standards
   10. Must successfully complete and pass all background checks.
