COOK – Full-time
Primary Function: Responsible for preparing and serving food, production sheets and keeping a clean kitchen
Primary Duties
- Develop and coordinate menus
- Coordinate food preparation and service
- Complete required production sheets and order forms. Complete and submit all USDA, School and other agency required reports
- Monitor food consumption and adjust food orders and menus as needed
- Conduct regular inspections of kitchens and food preparation areas and procedures. Ensure Compliance with safety rules and regulations. Document inspections and report to supervisor.
- Assist with preparation and monitoring of budgets and planning for the Food Service program
- Monitor food and beverage items for quality and freshness
- Set-up the food carts
- Stock, arrange, and prepare food and beverages
- Set-up, serve, and clean-up for all meals
- Maintain clean, sanitary, and orderly kitchen and cafeteria areas
- Attend meetings as required
- Follow all duties of a mandated reporter
- Perform other related duties, as assigned
Required Qualifications
- HSD/GED required.
2. Minimum 3-year food service experience - Serv Save Certified or willing and able to obtain within three months of hire.
- Knowledge of health department regulations on food preparation and meal serving
- Ability to lift 30 pounds regularly
- Good communication and writing skills
7. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
8. Able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends depending on needs of the program. - Transportation, valid Wisconsin driver’s license, state minimum auto insurance, and must meet La Casa de Esperanza’s driving standards
10. Must successfully complete and pass all background checks.
