Cafe Esperanza Manager

CAFE ESPERANZA MANAGER – CAFE – Full to Part-time

BASIC FUNCTIONS: This position monitors the stock, assets and the safe handling of the food in Café Esperanza & the kitchen.

REPORTS TO: Chef Operating Officer FLSA: Non-Exempt

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Cafe Esperanza Assistant Manager performs several different functions in the running of Café and the kitchen from inventory, menu updating, following ServSafe guidelines in Restaurant management & Alcohol, client relations and special events.

Job Responsibilities:

• Organize & do weekly inventory of supplies and assets for Café Esperanza
• Monitor stock & submit purchase orders when needed
• Place order(s) with vendor(s) and confirm acceptance of items delivered.
• Make sure stock is put away when received and items are stored in proper manner.
• Update Weekly/Daily Menu’s & send out to staff and others.
• Monitor kitchen and restaurant so it follows all State, Local and Program’s Regulations.
• Arrange staffing for and be present for private events
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor, Chef Operating Officer, or President and CEO

Job Skills Requirements:

• High attention to detail
• Have currently or be able to pass ServSafe Manager & Alcohol classes or equivalent
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to keep several projects moving and on target simultaneously.
• Some Computer experience needed.
• Maintain a flexible work schedule – some evening and weekend hours may be required for Special Events
• Flexibility to fill-in when needed as a server, cook or other position when needed.

Desired Characteristics:

• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
• Restaurant/Kitchen Experience
