TITLE: Administrative Assistant – Charter School
DEPARTMENT: Charter School
BASIC FUNCTIONS: To provide support to the Principal and Charter School with key administrative tasks.
REPORTS TO: Charter School Principal
FLSA: Non-Exempt
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
This position supports the Principal and Charter School through the execution of key administrative tasks. The Administrative Assistant will obtain documents from various sources, and will use them to create and maintain student files in accordance with DPI guidelines. This position will also refer any issues or concerns of parents/guardians directly to the principal. The Administrative Assistant performs additional tasks such as filing, scheduling, event planning and ordering of supplies. This position also supports other areas of the Charter School as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
Request documentation from parents/guardians or educational institutions that includes K4 records, immunization records, birth certificates, childcare enrollment and IEP’s
Create or verify Wisconsin Student Number
Create student files that contain required documents per DPI guidelines
Translate letters, notifications and other documents that are sent home to parents/guardians of Charter School students
Refer issues and concerns to the Principal when issues arise with students related to health, attendance or punctuality
Schedule appointments and maintain the calendar of the Principal
Order supplies for teachers and administrative staff
Order uniforms after verifying sizes and distribute them to all parents/guardians upon enrollment
Assist with planning of special events
In coordination with the Director of IT, provide technical support to classrooms and administrative offices if issues arise with computers or smart boards
Support and assist crossing guards when needed
Submit maintenance requests as needed
Other duties as assigned by manager or CEO

Valid WI Driver’s License
Education Requirements:
High school diploma, or GED with some college-level coursework in education or related field
Desired Characteristics:
Bachelor’s degree in related field
