TITLE: Elementary Instructional Teacher – Dual Language
DEPARTMENT: Charter School
BASIC FUNCTIONS: Plan, implement, and deliver high quality instruction to elementary students in grades K-5th grade in a self-contained classroom. Teaching all subjects (Reading/writing, Science, and Social Studies) in both English and Spanish. Math is taught in English. Continuous collaboration and communication with colleagues, families and administration throughout the school year.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Under the direction of the Executive Principal, The Dual Language Education Teacher demonstrates enthusiasm, energy, and a passion for teaching within every aspect of the position. The Instructional Teacher will be responsible for creating a learning environment that provides high quality instruction, in English and Spanish, for students while utilizing the charter school approved curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices. This position will collaborate with staff and parents to foster a positive team environment that will enrich each student’s learning and potential. The Instructional Teacher will work with families and students of diverse backgrounds and will hold a firm commitment that every child is provided with the opportunity to learn.
Job Responsibilities:
· Plan and implement high quality, standards aligned lessons for students in the class.
· Maintain appropriate classroom management during instruction.
· Utilize curriculum and resources to create lesson plans in both English and Spanish.
· Work with administration and colleagues to analyze data that informs instruction.
· Provide a positive learning environment of respect and rapport.
· Maintain professional competence by participating in staff development activities, curriculum development meetings, and other professional opportunities.
· Perform other related duties as assigned by the Executive Principal or CEO.

Licensure Requirements:
· Valid Wisconsin DPI Teaching License for grade level desired

· Previous classroom teacher experience.
· Focused on delivering high quality, standards aligned instruction in Spanish and English (Math is taught in English)

The position also entails significant walking, bending, standing, stooping, and possible physical interventions in order to maintain a safe learning environment Assignment may require the ability to physically move students or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs, position students in specialized equipment, and/or change diapers as needed.
