Human Resources Manager - Weatherization

TITLE: Human Resources Manager – Weatherization

DEPARTMENT: Human Resources

BASIC FUNCTIONS: To assist the Human Resources department with all aspects of HR including oversight of the HRIS and with emphasis on the Weatherization program.

REPORTS TO: Chief Operating Officer

FLSA: Exempt

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

This position provides assistance to the Human Resources Department with emphasis on the Weatherization program. The HR Manager of Weatherization is responsible for talent acquisition and the support of managers regarding performance, training and any other HR issues as they arise. This position is responsible for the oversight of the HRIS system which includes driving the onboarding process for new employees. The Human Resources Manager of Weatherization will also provide guidance to the Weatherization program through analyses of current work flows, job responsibilities and organizational structure.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides support to Weatherization managers by handling questions, interpreting and helping resolve work-related problems
  • Advises managers on employment law as well as organizational policies and then makes recommendations to ensure fair and consistent employment practices
  • Oversees staffing needs and creates plans to recruit talent for needed positions
  • Directly and indirectly counsels employees and administers disciplinary procedures
  • Identifies staff vacancies and manages full-cycle recruiting
  • Provides support to managers through the generation of compensation reports and plans
  • Plans, organizes, directs, and coordinates training and other employee activities as needed
  • Provides current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, and opportunities for promotion and employee benefits
  • Provides oversight to La Casa’s HRIS and facilitates the onboarding process for all new employees
  • Enter all relevant data in the HRIS including payroll and benefits information
  • Maintain employee files within the HRIS
  • Analyzes statistical data and reports to identify issues and in turn make recommendations to remedy issues that have been identified
  • Maintains records and compiles statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates
  • In coordination with Weatherization managers, analyze training needs to design employee development, and health and safety programs
  • Conducts exit interviews to identify reasons for employee resignations
  • Oversees the evaluation, classification, and rating of occupations and job positions
  • Provide personnel forecasts to project employment needs for new contracts
  • Utilizes internal policies, and federal, state/local regulations to make recommendations and decisions
  • Other duties as assigned by manager or CEO

Job Skills Requirements:

  • In depth knowledge and understanding of employment law
  • Strong background working with an HRIS (ADP preferred)
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail
  • Strong organization skills
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel
  • Ability to use scanners, printers and other devices that aid in the transfer of physical documents into electronic files
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality
  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to keep multiple projects moving and on target simultaneously
  • Personal and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional communication skills (written, verbal)

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, a Master’s degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred
  • PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification preferred
